この曲は、当初、スローな曲だったものを、５人目のビートルズと呼ばれている、プロデューサーのジョージ マーティン が アップテンポに変えるように、要請し、イントロのハーモニカも、後に加えられた。

この頃の、ビートルズの作詞作曲の、クレジットは、一人が単独で作った曲も、名目上は、レノン＆マッカートニーと、なっている曲も多いです。
この曲のテイクは、ドラマーが、3人、それぞれのバージョンが有ります、ピーター ベスト 、リンゴ スター 、 そして、スタジオミュージシャンの、アンディ ホワイト 、アルバム、プリーズ プリーズ ミー、収録と、デビューシングルのテイクは、アンディ ホワイトが🥁担当で、リンゴはタンバリンで参加してます。
2. P.S.アイ ラブ ユー ,
ラブ ミー ドゥーのB面としてリリースされた。
ポールの曲で、ジョンも、この曲に、手を加えた記憶はあまり無いとコメントしている。

3. ベイビー イッツ ユー
リンゴが歌った、🎵Boys 同様、こちらも、ガールズ R＆B グループ、Shirelles の61'年のオリジナル ヒット曲です。
作曲は、バート バカラック🎹
作詞は、マック デヴィットと、Shirelles の、いくつかの曲を手掛けた、ルーサー ディクソン、（名義上は、バーニー ウィリアムスになっている。）
🎵🎤 ジョン レノンが、🎵can't help myself〜

の箇所で、シャウト気味に歌っていて、やはり、ロックンロールの人🎸だ❕
〜 69'年に、Smith の女性ボーカリスト、ゲイル マコーミックが、ソウルフルに、力強く歌ってヒットさせた。
4. ドゥ ユー ウォント トゥ ノウ ア シィークレット ,
ジョン レノン作曲、ジョージ ハリソンのボーカル🎤
ジョージ ハリソンがリードボーカルをとった曲の中で、はじめて、ヒットチャート入りした曲になりました。
ジョン レノンと、ジョージ ハリソン、二人とも、アコースティックギターを弾いてます。
録音は、左チャンネルで、ジョンが、右チャンネルで、ジョージの、それぞれのギターを録音してます。
歌詞のなりたちのエピソードとしては、 ジョンが幼い頃、母が彼に歌って聞かせた、ディズニー映画の、白雪姫と七人の小人たち、の中の曲、🎵I'm Wishing , が関係してます。
映画の中で、この曲が流れる前に、白雪姫が、鳩の群れに、問いかける 台詞があります。

ポールがリードボーカルです。
元は、イギリスで上演された演劇、蜜の味の、アメリカ、ニューヨークの、ブロード ウェイ版（1960'）のミュージカル用に、作られた曲で、はじめは、インストゥルメンタル曲でしたが、後に、歌詞が加えられた。
1962' , レニー ウェルチが、女性コーラスをしたがえて、歌詞付きの曲を歌ってます。
ポールは、父親がアマチュアの、ジャズ音楽家で、 エルビス プレスリー登場以前の、ポピュラー音楽全般を聴いて育った、故に、ロックだけで無く、メロディアスなポピュラー音楽に馴染んでいた。
この曲も、演劇用の歌なので、物語性のある歌はポールにとって、自然に歌えたといえる。
また、ビートルズ全曲の中においても、異色の曲といえる。
一方、ジョンは、エルビス フリークの、ロックンローラーです。
この、🎵蜜の味、の様な楽曲は、むず痒い感じで、嫌いだったのかもしれない。 コーラスでは、歌詞を変えたりして、ささやかな反抗をみせている。
〜🌿 日本では、1966' のNHK.紅白歌合戦（ペギー葉山さん司会)で、中尾ミエさんが、紅組のトップバッターとして、この、🎵蜜の味を歌ってます。
6. ゼアズ ア プレイス ,
ジョンとポールの、ツイン ボーカル曲です🎤
その場所とは、頭の中にある、 人が、精神的に落ち込んだり、一人になりたい時に、逃げ込める 自分しか知らない 、’場所' の事かなぁ？
内省的な、歌詞は、おそらく ジョンだろう！
後の、ビートルズの曲において、精神性を追求した歌詞は、ほとんどが、ジョン レノンによるものが多く、デビューの頃から、やはり ジョンは、なにかを抱えていた様に、思います。
タイトルは、ウエスト サイド ストーリーの サウンドトラックに収録の、🎵Somewhere （ there's a Place for Us ）から、
引用したものらしい。

アルバムの最後を飾るのは、
ロックンローラー、ジョンのシャウトが、カッコイイ、🎵ツイスト アンド シャウト 🎤です。
オリジナル曲は、61,に R＆B, ドゥアップ ボーカル グループの、ザ.トップ ノーツ が歌いました。
テンポが 速い、R＆B曲です。
1962' , R＆B , ソウル ボーカル グループの
アイズレー ブラザーズが、カバー曲として、歌ったバージョンが、後のビートルズが、カバーした曲です。
ジョン レノンが、レコーディングの際、声を枯らしていて、その事が、かえって、カッコイイ音源になった。
1980, ニューヨークの、自宅前で、凶弾に倒れ、他界した彼。
追悼する曲として、イエスタデイを流していた番組に、あるロック評論家が、選曲に異を唱えていた事を、思い出しました。
ロックンロールの人だった、ジョンには、ツイスト アンド シャウト❗だろう！ と言いたかったのでしょう。
亡くなったばかりなので、静かな曲を、流したのかもしれません。
それでも、イエスタデイは、ポールの曲なので、せめて、イマジンにすれば、よかったものを、と
